Here’s a photo I received in my email today. This is a perfect example of an attempt at humor gone bad.

Democrats? Republicans? Bailout? Delusion?

Let me see if I have this straight. This whole economic problem has been brewing and stewing for nearly 20 years. Nearly two weeks ago, Republican Treasury Sec. Paulson meets with Republican President Bush and members of Congress and paints a bleak picture of our economic future – that was on a Thursday. Since then, the ability to borrow money has tightened up.

The Democrats take the (Republican) ball and run with it – championing the cause to “bailout” America – both Republican and Democrats work diligently through many nights with people they don’t really like or trust, but finally hammer out a bill that will work – helping both our financial system, and in turn, those of us that live on Main Street.

All the while, voters are contacting their Senators and Representatives saying NO and HELL NO. Several reports have said the calls to Congress are running 90% against any type of bailout. Yet they press on – determined to pass something, anything – we have to act NOW – the sky is falling!

Are they delusional? 90% of the voters say NO, and they press on? Obviously, it’s because we don’t understand the effects it could have, or the urgency of the matter. After all, we’re just a bunch of sheep, right?

So the vote goes before the House yesterday – I’m watching the markets and they start tanking as soon as it’s apparent that the House is having nothing to do with this bailout. Maybe they aren’t as delusional as I thought.

Then comes the finger pointing, lol – gawd, talk about 3rd grade. Of the no votes, 95 were Democrats, 133 Republicans – yet according to the Democratic leaders (I use that term loosely here) the fact that it did not pass lies on the shoulders of the House Republicans – never mind the fact that 95 Democrats voted against it.

I urge everyone to stay informed about what your Senators and Representatives are doing. Congress.org is a great site both watching them in action and contacting them with your views – it’s every good sheep’s responsibility.

Restarting Internet Explorer 7

<rant>

I have really come to hate IE 7 – mostly when I decide to restart my computer. My browsing habits are probably not the best as I keep lots of tabs open in IE.

Today I needed to restart because of a software install, so I close IE and tell it (ask it?) to re-open the tabs the next time Explorer is launched.

Restarted the PC, loaded Outlook Express, loaded IE 7. IE needed to re-open 12 tabs – 4 of which were to local files on my HD – and it just hangs. Now it will take me 10-15 minutes to find and reload all those tabs – ugh!

I’d much rather M$ create the tab with the address in the bar and force a 404 error – at least I could just refresh the tabs one at a time to get back where I was. Alternately, create a folder in my Favorites called “Last Session” and just place the bookmarks in there.

Typical M$ POS – and yes, I know, I know – use FireFox, lol
