Accessing the Instinct’s Internal Memory
filed in apps, hacks on Sep.04, 2008
We all know you can use the USB cable to access the microSD card memory as a drive in Windows. Try typing ##672# while hooked up to the PC. If you can’t access the dialer, disconnect, press the “voice command” button, then after she says “Say a command” plug back in.
On my machine I get another drive letter assigned (now I have two) – one accesses the microSD card as expected, the other gives access to the built in memory on the phone. This is the place where all the apps, ringers, contacts are stored.
During my first venture into here, I mostly just dug around trying to see what is what, opening the .JAR files to see what they are, etc.
I found the app for the SprintTV and opened the .JAR with 7zip. Inside the .JAR file is lots of stuff, most of which I did not mess with for fear of screwing things up. I did find several .jpg files though and toyed around with colorizing those – see my post about SprintTV for a colorized version of SprintTV.
